The arrival of LNG has ended power load management, said Minister Awais Leghari, bringing relief to consumers. Awais Ahmad Leghari stated that electricity supply has improved after the gas shipment reached the country. As a result, authorities have restored normal distribution in many areas.

He explained that people faced load management issues in recent days due to fuel shortages. However, the situation improved quickly once LNG supplies arrived. The government acted to stabilize the system and reduce disruptions in electricity supply.

The minister noted that about 13 to 14 days ago, load shedding affected many regions. At the same time, hydropower production increased significantly and reached nearly 6,000 megawatts. Previously, it remained close to 1,000 megawatts, which limited supply and increased pressure on the system.

He added that authorities also operated furnace oil and fuel-based plants to control the crisis. These measures helped meet demand during peak hours. The government took these steps to ensure electricity remained available despite supply challenges.

The minister expressed hope that transmission lines would remain safe from faults. He also said the country had to purchase expensive gas because Qatari supplies were delayed. He clarified that current electricity production stands at around 32,000 megawatts, not 46,000 megawatts.

He said power generation capacity changes throughout the year based on demand and resources. The government aims to protect consumers from high electricity costs. The arrival of LNG has ended power load management, and officials expect stability to continue.
